Ryan Fredette Visits Winter Park, Colorado, January 14 - 18, 2010

Over the recent Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, Ryan Fredette, his parents, and friend, Brenden, went to Winter Park, Colorado for a few days of snowboarding. Interestingly enough, this was the same weekend that the northeast got blasted with its own winter storm.

They flew United Airlines out of Boston, via Chicago, to Denver.  On the return trip they had a direct flight back to Boston.

Winter Park has a base elevation of 9,000 feet, and the mountain top is at 10,700 feet, thus providing a vertical drop of 1,700 feet and a maximum run of two miles.  With a total of 143 trails, what is not to like?

They rented a two bedroom condominium at Iron Horse Resort, Winter Park's original ski-in ski out property.  Secluded, yet close to all Winter Park activities, Iron Horse Resort offered  them ski-in ski-out access via an intermediate ski run, heated pool, four outdoor hot tubs, on-site restaurant, lounge, ski-shop, 24-hour front desk, weight room, complimentary shuttle and newspaper.  The Iron Horse was a great choice for Ryan's Winter Park boarding vacation.

Ryan Fredette even has his picture taken with the goggles up on his head!!

It is not a sunny, clear blue sky day, but it will have to do.

Not exactly ideal conditions, but this is Winter Park.

Stef and Bob are happy to hang out at the lodge with Mr Snowman.

Ryan and Brenden enjoy the hot tub after a day of boarding.

Bet they slept soundly.

Early morning conditions are not looking too good.

The Four Muskateers - Benden, Stef, Bob, and Ryan - are out there again; this is Winter Park, Colorado.

Ah, this is the goggled Ryan Fredette that we all know and love.

Later, Ryan and Brenden take a snowcat ride up the mountain.

Ryan had to be a passenger. They wouldn't let him drive.

Doesn't Stefanie look like she is having a lot of fun. It is Winter Park, Colorado.

Back to the hotel, hot tub, and pool.

Ryan is looking quite at home and comfortable here. It is Winter Park, Colorado.

It's time for a little apres ski someplace in Winter Park, Colorado.

Unfortunately, the road and pass to Denver was closed, so they had to leave Monday night and stay over in Denver for the Tuesday flight to Boston.

After the long weekend at Winter Park, it is time to head back to the 'home' base at Mt.Wachusett in Spencer, Massachusetts.
