ONDARTE –INTERNATIONAL ARTIST RESIDENCY in Akumal Norte, Mexico, officially opens it’s doors on the 23rd of July, welcoming its first five artists: Cathryn McEwen from Australia (www.cathrynmcewen.com), Nasser Lubay from The Philippines (www.nasserlubay.com), Diane Richey Ward (www.dianericheyward.com) and SusanTonkin Riegel (www.susantonkinriegel.com) from the USA, and Jorge Llamos Gonzalez (http://jorgellamos.artelista.com) from Cuba.  There was an exhibition and cocktail reception to celebrate the talent of the five artists.

This was a very well organized and attended event, and one that Akumal can be very proud of.  Kudos to Maribel Bianchi and her excellent staff who pulled together a wonderful event.

This is a 'behind the scene' photo of the artists at work preparing for the opening.
